The Academy at Bella Vista

The Academy is pleased to announce our new  assisted living community, "The Academy at Bella Vista", a  secure  memory-care home for up to ten residents. Located on a wooded half acre in central Boulder, The Academy at Bella Vista will offer exceptional Alzheimer's and dementia care and service in a gracious residential setting.

Residents at Bella Vista will receive the same extraordinary services and  luxury  amenities that are the hallmark of The Academy retirement community. During waking hours there will be three or more staff members to serve Bella Vista's 10 residents. At night, one caregiver will provide protective oversight for Bella Vista residents and two additional live-in staff, will provide back-up for the overnight shifts.

From the time they awake each day, Bella Vista residents will have a myriad of opportunities for meaningful living. While enjoying the warmth and intimacy of a private home, residents also will have the benefit of all The Academy's many services and amenities, including delectable food prepared by The Academy's chefs, personal transportation in The Academy's London Taxi, van rides and outings in The Academy's 13 person van, and exercise classes and activities planned and conducted by The Academy's Community Life team. In addition to organized activities, residents will be encouraged to participate in meal preparation, household chores, watering plants and outdoor gardening.

Each of the ten Bella Vista residences will range from 280 to 390 square feet in size, with 9 foot ceilings, generous closet space, a specially designed bathroom, cable TV and internet access, and French doors leading to a private patio or deck. A separate storage locker will also be provided for each residence. Our indoor common areas include a living room with lots of comfortable seating, a family room for games and crafts, a study/grand piano room for live music performances, a gourmet kitchen with a Viking stove and refrigerator and two separate islands where residents can watch and participate in meal preparation, a large dining room for community meals, a large screen projector system for showing slides and movies, indoor/outdoor stereo speaker systems throughout, two gas fireplaces, a collapsible walk-in therapeutic tub, and a spa/salon.

Bella Vista's outdoor areas will include outdoor patios, walking paths, and raised bed gardens. The site is wooded and features walnut, peach, apple, pear and apricot trees together with beautiful mountain vistas. A series of streams and ponds will provide a serene backdrop for the outdoor patio areas.

Just as it is at The Academy, it will be people that make Bella Vista a special place. We appreciate the fact it is the special people that live and work at The Academy that have enabled us to win Best of Boulder (5 times) and runner up (twice) in the past 7 years. Similarly, it will be the special people who live and work at Bella Vista that will allow us to achieve our goal of making The Academy at Bella Vista one of the best and most unique memory care residences in the United States.
