After researching memory care homes for a family member, the managing directors of The Academy retirement community in Boulder took on the challenge of combining the benefits of small, family-style group care homes and the conveniences and services offered by large facilities. The result of their effort is Bella Vista, a 10-person secure memory care home that is the “little sister” of The Academy. Bella Vista has the advantages of being able to share in the many amenities offered by The Academy, including its 12-passenger van with wheelchair lift, exercise instructor, community life director, and a wonderful food service team that prepares special buffets and holiday meals for residents and families, enabling them to get to know each other and the caregivers on a personal level.
